Hand Knotted Antique Medal with Lapis





This is really exceptional. The antique medal is from Argentina and is made of Alpaca or silver. It measures 2" in diameter, not including the bail. The design depicts our Lord Jesus with a chalice ascending into heaven with a cross at its back and children praying below. It is signed by the artist. At back it is written in Spanish. Medal is quite heavy and very chunky. I have hand knotted this piece using Montana blue Swarovski crystals, sterling silver beads and bead caps. Each lapis piece is 16 mm in size and a deep blue with gold specks. Length of the necklace, not including the pendant, is 18.5". It may be extended to 19" and is finished with a pear shaped sterling closure.
