These rosaries are made up of 28 beads divided into four groups of seven called weeks. In Judeo-Christian tradition, the number seven represents spiritual perfection and completion. Between each week is a single bead, called a cruciform bead, as the four beads form a cross. The invitatory bead between the cross and the wheel of beads brings the total to 33, the number of years in Jesus�f earthly life.

To begin, hold the Cross and say the prayer below, then move to the Invitatory Bead. Then enter the circle of the prayer with the first Cruciform Bead, moving to the right, go through the first set of seven beads to the next Cruciform bead, continuing around the circle, saying the prayers for each bead. A period of silence should follow the prayer, for a time of reflection and listening.

O God, make speed to save us.

O Lord, make haste to help us.

The Invitatory Bead

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:

As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

The Cruciform Beads

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

The Last Cruciform Bead

The Lord bless you and keep you.

The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.

The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen.
